Gap analysis for K-12 schools and learning centers
See where every student comes up short.
Who needs the teacher, and on which skill. From the quizzes you already give, with no extra work.
When every student works on their own gaps, mistakes fall.
What that did for our first measured cohort: 49 students preparing for Ukraine's national exam, the NMT, since September 2026, in a tutored course run by NMT.academy on the Gaplight platform. The students who started furthest behind moved most — 26 of the 33 who began below 75% gained 15 percentage points of readiness or more.
86.5%
correct on questions they had never seen
Against 85.2% on ones they had practised — 423 unseen questions, matched for difficulty.
−41%
fewer mistakes for the median student
First contact against final state on the same questions, across 147 student-topic pairs.
2 in 3
mistakes were answered right on the next try
Across 5,286 attempts after a wrong answer.
194
out of 200, the median real NMT score a year earlier
20 students who prepared on the engine. A level, not a gain: we have no starting scores for them.
A grade says how far behind. Not on what.
Your teachers already test. Gaplight reads every answer on the quizzes you already give, in any subject, picks what each student practises next, and shows each teacher where students are coming up short, without extra work on their part.
No follow-up tests to write
After every answer, Gaplight picks what that student practises next: more on the skill they keep missing, less on what they already know. Every student gets their own follow-up work, and the teacher writes none of it.
No papers to go back through
The mistake half the class shares is on one screen, with the wrong answer they chose, the morning after the quiz.
Mistakes come back until they are fixed
A question a student got wrong returns until they get it right, and a short check every few sessions shows what has held. In our first measured cohort, two in three mistakes were answered right on the next try.
The teacher still decides where to step in and explain. Gaplight does the sorting and the follow-up, not the teaching.

We are running a few free beta tests this school year: one class, your own quizzes, about six weeks. We load your questions and map them to skills; your class takes its first check the week after.

Gaplight, cohort data, October 2026
Gaplight is built on the same idea: frequent checks, and teaching adjusted to what they show.
Every classroom. Every center.
One engine under the people who teach: K-12 classrooms, learning centers and tutors.

Every course, checked as it goes.
A short check every few sessions on your own course, and each teacher sees who has to revisit what before the unit test.

Test it on your own students first.
We are running a few beta tests this school year: one class, one of your own courses, about six weeks, at no cost to the school, with the measures agreed before it starts. In return we ask for the teacher's honest feedback and permission to use the results without names.
- Week 0Your course and questions loaded, student list, data agreement
- Week 1Diagnostic and first gap map
- Weeks 2–5Practice that adapts after every answer; the teacher sees who needs what each week
- Week 6Final check and a review against the agreed measures

Questions schools ask first.
Is Gaplight only for exam preparation?
No. It runs on any course with clear learning goals, in any subject and grade. A school sends a course it already teaches and the questions it already uses; a short check every few sessions shows each teacher which students have to revisit what, before the unit test.
Can we use our own courses and questions?
Yes, and that is how schools start. Send us the course outline and your questions or tests; we load them and map them to skills, so your teachers write nothing new. A first course takes a few working days.
Which exams does Gaplight cover?
Ukraine’s NMT is live today, with students on it every day. The engine runs on any exam with a clear skill map, and we are choosing the next exams together with our founding schools and centers. Tell us which exam you teach to and we will show you how it would map.
How is Gaplight different from Khan Academy?
Khan Academy is a free library of lessons and practice built on its own exercises. Gaplight reads the quizzes your teachers already give, in any subject, and shows each teacher who needs them and on which skill. Khan helps students practise; Gaplight shows teachers where the class’s own work shows gaps. Many schools could use both.
How is this different from a question bank?
A question bank gives students more questions. Gaplight decides which question each student sees next, from what they keep getting wrong, and shows teachers who needs what.
Do we need to replace our LMS?
No. Gaplight works alongside it. Students are enrolled from a list you send us and sign in with Google or an invite code; nothing in your current systems has to change.
Does it replace tutors or teachers?
No. It makes their time precise: who needs help, on what, and what to plan for the next session.
How long does it take to start?
About an hour on your side: a student list, a call and the data agreement. We load your course and questions ourselves, usually within a few working days, and the class takes its first check after that.
How is it priced?
$150 per student per year, excluding tax, the same for learning centers, schools and districts. Teacher seats are free. Every school starts with a free beta test on one class and one of your own courses. See the pricing page.
Does it work with Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. Gaplight has its own MCP server. Once the school turns it on, students and teachers connect it to Claude or ChatGPT with a personal token and work with their own data in plain language.
What happens to student data?
It belongs to the school or center, is never sold, and is deleted on request. Every school signs a data agreement before students log in.
